Master Jones, Toronado and Sestina
Here is another example of an animal processing data and making a quick, and effective decision for a solution...quicker than I can often make myself. Master Jones, lovingly called Jonsey was a miniature horse, only about 37 inches tall. Jonsey was a stallion when I picked him up on his 13h birthday. My Tennessee Walker mare was in heat when I brought him home. He decided that he was going to breed Sestina, 2 1/2 times his size, if he killed himself and even me in the process. And, she was willing to have him complete the act, no matter what it took. A friend told me I had the only Tennessee Walker on the planet that needed knee pads!
Needless-to-say, I had him gelded as soon as I could. But, it was too late in life for him to give up his stallion ways. Sestina was his woman and no other guy was going to get near her. So, he incessantly chased poor Toronado, my quite large Peruvian Paso gelding. Toronado has never wanted any trouble with anyone, so he ran and ran and ran. Jonsey would chase him so long that the next day poor little Jonsey could barely walk. So, it became imperative that I separate them and only let one of them in the pasture with Sestina at a time.

BIRD'S WORDS WIN AWARD
DENVER (AP) - A parrot that alerted his owner about a baby who was choking was recognized as a hero by the Red Cross.
Willie the parrot was given the Animal Lifesaver Award during the "Breakfast of Champions" event attended by Gov. Bill Ritter and Mayor John Hickenlooper.
Willie received the award Friday for his actions in November, when he and owner Megan Howard were baby-sitting a toddler. Willie repeatedly yelled, "Mama, baby" when Howard went to the bathroom, and the toddler started to choke on her breakfast.
Howard saved the baby by performing the Heimlick maneuver, but she says Willie "is the real hero."

Out of Touch...but Now I'm Back
What a long several months it has been since I have written here. Where have I been? It's a long story and I am not ready to tell it just yet. I am receiving a lot of requests lately for information and support regarding pets passing on, or transitioning to the other side. I will be doing some writings in the next few days regarding this starting with the passing of my beloved Poncho Memorial Day weekend of 2008. I have had so much grief, I just was not ready to write about him here, or anywhere else. I am ready now.
But hey, it's almost spring! The Robins are out. I see them right outside of my window. I was not aware until now that they have yellow/orange beaks. They look like they have been all painted anew for springtime. It is clear they know I am at the window watching them. They peek at me periodically and each time I tell them how beautiful they are. Then back they go to eating their grub. The lawn has small amounts of green peeking through, and the Robins are so startingly beautiful against this background; brown, orange, and yellow against a green and brown canvas. Incredible!
Will you open yourself to the Animal Kingdom?
They are all around us. Every day. Every night. The mammals, the birds, the insects, the reptiles. They are just waiting for us to acknowledge them. They are watching us. They are ready to help us. I tell people I teach, "The moment you show interest in a new way of relating to the Animal Kingdom, unusual things will begin to happen. Animals, and other life forms will begin to acknowledge you, let you know that they know." I have so many stories of my own. I would love to hear yours.
"Listen to the truth from the ALL....we are ALL one"
Times are changing very fast. Often people are frantic, afraid, insensitive and sometimes frightening. Sealing a business with a hand shake is long gone. Unfortunately so are many of the people who "walk their talk." What happened? Are they still around, but have forgotten? Or is it more like "No one else is honest. Why should I be?" The animals on our planet are wanting to help us remember. We all have experienced how animals love unconditionally, forgive and live in the moment. Do we want to be part of the problem, or are we ready to finally be part of the solution? How would life be different for us if we slowed down, experience animals and nature, and feel our connection to Spirit. Perhaps, it is time to move way beyond our desire to communicate with our animals about the mundane things of life. What does Fido want for dinner? Does he want a new animal companion? What is his favorite flavor of ice cream? Does he like me?
